Zeytinburnu Youth Parliament
About Zeytinburnu Youth Parliament
We aim to give the young people of Zeytinburnu, between the age of 15 and 25 a voice, which will be heard and listened to by local and national government, providers of services for young people and other agencies that have an interest in the views and needs of young people. Students of Zeytinburnu are encouraged to take an interest in current affairs and the democratic process, practice independent thinking and take personal initiative. We are of the strong opinion that the youth should not only inhabit the rules and laws that shape their future but also should take an active role in the decision-making process. This idea is also supported by the Local Agenda 21. Zeytinburnu Youth Parliament was first launched in March 2005. Nevertheless it is currently a member of Youth for Habitat. At this time it is in the developing age nonetheless we have organized and hosted the following seminars and speeches:

31 Mach 2006
We have organized a diner where we have invited all the representatives of the classes from the high schools in Zeytinburnu and have invited a famous reporter called Mithat Breket.

We are working closely together with the organization called Youth for Habitat and have organized courses on computer literacy for approximately 30 young people of Zeytinburnu.

We have organized an essay competition with the topic of drug addiction to emphasize the danger to the youth.

We have organized a fair aiming to introduce the different professions, where we have invited six universities to Zeytinburnu.
